What We Are Looking For
We are seeking to appoint a proficient Golang engineer to take ownership over key domains within our codebase and work with a high level of autonomy while working amicably with other engineers to manage key architectural changes that affect other domains in our codebase. Broad responsibilities for the role include:
Design, develop and maintain solutions which you take pride in and ensure scalability, security and performance
Design, build and maintain clean, efficient, reusable, reliable and maintainable code using industry best practices and coding standards
Conduct thorough testing and debugging to ensure software meets quality standards
Contribute to the documentation of software design, architecture and development processes
Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure adherence to coding standards
What You’ll Need
We are seeking applications from Engineers with a minimum 3 years experience as a developer, preferably in a SaaS environment, who have a strong knowledge of Golang with demonstrated experience in:
using the standard library for developing web servers.
use of popular web frameworks such as Echo or Gin.
effective implementation of concurrent patterns in golang.
golang’s testing library.
database drivers and how to write database queries using golang.
the http package to make API calls to services.
You will also need experience in:
deploying golang applications on container technologies such as docker or podman.
version control using Git.
developing in a devops team with frequent releases through CICD pipelines.
microservices architectures (with kubernetes is a big plus, but serverless technologies such as lamba or azure functions are still relevant).
building tooling for local development. We currently support linux and windows, mac is welcome but the successful applicant would be responsible for maintaining any additional tooling required. (experience with skaffold a big plus).
Applicants will need to have the unrestricted right to work in Australia to be eligible for this role.
Successful applicants will need to be willing to obtain a National Police Clearance as part of our final stages of the recruitment process.

For this role we are primarily seeking someone to help build out our existing set of golang APIs, but we operate as full stack developers so would be looking to extend the applicants abilities to be across the full stack.
As a developer in the Cloud team you will be responsible for all stages of the development cycle, from enhancing the CICD pipelines with k8s resource definition files to software changes in our backend and frontend to provide new features to our customers and everything in between.

While we think that salary isn't everything, we know it is an important part of your decision to apply for a position. This position is able to be fully remote and located anywhere in Australia - as a result, the salary range is from $80,000 to $130,000 but this is dependent upon skills, experience and location of the successful candidate.
One of our key benefits is the flexibility we offer team members. This role can be either a fully remote role (based anywhere in Australia) or a hybrid position working remotely and in person at the Adelaide office.
