Overview
The Information Technology Operations function of Atmail takes care of all internal IT needs and the systems involved in the billing of our customers and end-users. The scope of this role includes working across, or in support of, our engineering and operations team, our finance team and all employees and contractors IT needs.
PurposeWe are currently seeking a seasoned and versatile professional to join our team as a Business Application Developer, a true "jack of all trades," who will play a pivotal role in enhancing our technical capabilities. The ideal candidate will be very experienced with a strong background in software engineering and a comprehensive understanding of Internet technologies.
This role demands a skilled individual proficient in the languages of Go and Python programming languages, well-versed in Terraform, and ideally certified in AWS cloud technologies. The ideal candidate is an accomplished professional who may be eager to re-immerse themselves in a hands-on technical role after holding successful leadership technical roles.
This role is currently being fulfilled part-time by another individual as part of their duties, but its now time to hire the right person to perform this function full time.
Key Accountabilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain business systems and applications.Develop and optimize software solutions using Go and Python to meet business requirements.Utilize Terraform to manage infrastructure as code, ensuring scalability and efficiency.Leverage deep expertise in AWS cloud technologies to architect, deploy, and manage cloud-based solutions.Conduct system analysis to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization.Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions and assess them for suitability to deliver improved business outcomes for AtmailProvide technical guidance, resolve technical issues and facilitate technical communication between stakeholders to support customer onboarding and ongoing maintenance processesParticipate in project and internal sprint activities, managing work priorities and maintaining open communication channels to manage expectations and keep internal stakeholders informedBe available to participate in the on-call roster to respond to priority 1 incidents for the customer billing system and internal IT systems
Mandatory experienceA total working experience of 8+ years in the field of Information Technology;Proven capability in a technical leadership role;Demonstrated experience with subscription billing systems (e.g. Chargebee, Zuora, Stripe, etc..)Proven capability designing and implementing complex technical solutions for internal and / or external customers;Ability to work autonomously and as part of an agile team environment with strong communication and collaboration skills;Demonstrated experience in a customer facing role (serving both internal & external customers);
Ability to work remotely, in an office environment or on a customer site;A Bachelor (or higher) degree in a technology field, or equivalent experience;Shows a high level of initiative, is proactive, leads by example; andDemonstrated strong organisational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify improvements, determine priorities, multi-task and effectively and efficiently meet strict deadlines.
DesirableExperience in email server and/or cloud technologies;AWS certification;Experience working with global teams across different time zones.
