IoT Developer (ThingWorx)

Project DescriptionOur client wants to build a Cyber Physical System for 5 of their plants. This will be the foundation for I4.0 use cases to optimize ooperations quality, cost and trhoughput. The scope is to setup an IT/OT Gateway, Unified Namespace and IoT Application namely Thingworx in each factory and a centralized instance on MS Azure. On top of the platform three use cases are planned in the first phase. The Use cases are Predictive Maintenance, Autonomous Process Control and Digital Work Order.The total project duration is planned for 4 years with the first 1.5 years spend with the plattform and use case implementation for the five factories.

Responsibilities• Work closely with IoT architect to design IoT architectures and use cases based on the requirements of the customer with PTC ThingWorx• Development of use cases on Thingworx and gradually handover to an operations team• Assist in system documentation development, conduct unit testing, provide code resolutions for UAT issues

SkillsMust have• Experience in the manufacturing industry. Bonus if experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods, Automotive, Steel, Aerospace area• Real hands-on experience with ThingWorx, understanding of ThingWorx best-practices in regards of deployment and use case implementation with ThingWorx Analytics, Flow and Mashups• Ability to develop machine learning models with ThingWorx Analytics• Experience in connecting PLCs, SCADA, MES, ERP, CMMS systems with Kepware and other connectivity solutions. Also via different interfaces like OPC UA, HTTP REST, Websockets.• 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably 3+ years in software development using Java, Python, or JavaScript in Agile settings.

Nice to have• Bonus if experience with the Siemens ecosystem (TIA Portal, Industrial Edge, Information Hub, Insights Hub)• Bonus if experience with MQTT, Sparkplug B and the concept of the Unified Namespace• Bonus if exposure to RDBMS and SQL query development.• Bonus if Cloud architecture experience (Microsoft Azure certification).
