Senior level Java Developers for positions with the option for remote work to help us build mission-critical systems to support the Department of State. You’ll use modern development tools in the Cloud to build and support cutting edge applications that support our nation’s security.

ResponsibilitiesWork with product owners and colleagues to interpret feature requests and develop software in iterative design/build/test/support cycles using an Agile development processDevelop Java web applications using Servlets and JSPsComplete client-side programming using Javascript frameworks such as jQuery.Regularly check code into our continuous integration pipeline based on Gradle, Git and Jenkins to incrementally build our overall system and get immediate feedback on build performanceBuild Java projects using GradleWrite SQL queries against a relational database such as MS SQL ServerJava database programming using JDBCPerform Linux system administration (Red Hat)Do XML programming in Java using JAXBManage Apache Tomcat application serverManage keys and certificates for PKI/SSLConfigure and use LDAP for authenticationDevelop web servicesUse cloud platforms such as MS AzurePerform continuous integration using JenkinsPerform test automation using SeleniumText indexing and search using Apache LuceneProvide recommendations on realistic solutions for issues escalated in a production environment to ensure customers are running smoothly in the shortest amount of time possibleAnalysis and execution of proactive actions based upon alerting and monitoring before concerns become critical problemsWorking across teams to coordinate troubleshooting and resolution of issues

QualificationsExperience with several components in the software stack described above is desired, including Javascript (preference for AngularJS), Spring MVC developed with STS, MongoDB and Oracle, and both RESTful and SOAP-based web servicesExperience working in a continuous integration environment with Git and build server software (Jenkins/Hudson/Bamboo) is desiredExperience with other open-source components a plus, including Gradle, Activiti / jBPM, jQuery, Mule ESBThe individual will have 4 + years of overall technical experience and recent experience building enterprise applications using several components of our software stackMust be a team playerProfessional consulting experience and background required- federal government experience is a plusMust have experience working in Azure
