CodePath is a national non-profit that is reprogramming higher education to create the most diverse generation of software engineers, CTOs, and founders. We deliver industry-vetted courses and career support centered on the needs of Black, Latino/a, Indigenous, and low-income students. Our students train with senior engineers, intern at top companies, and rise together to become the tech leaders of tomorrow.

Founded in 2017, CodePath has taught over 20,000 students and delivered courses across over 85 universities. We are supported by some of the largest and most well-respected organizations, including Andreessen Horowitz, Blue Meridian Partners, Cognizant Foundation, Comcast, Google, Meta, Salesforce, Walmart, and Workday, among others.

We are currently targeted to serve 10,000+ students a year nationwide as of 2023, and are planning to scale up to ~100,000 students a year by 2030.

Professional volunteer support is a critical part of CodePath’s student experience and operations. As CodePath tracks to serve 100,000+ students nationwide by 2030, we want to grow our engineering volunteers by 10X and reach a 50%+ volunteer return rate with our first developer relations hire.

The Senior Manager, Developer Relations is responsible for elevating CodePath’s brand awareness in engineering communities and scaling the number of engineering volunteers through education, outreach, community engagement, and strategic partnerships.

Reporting to the Director of Partner Marketing, you’ll lead individual and corporate outreach to build and nurture relationships with technical teams and grow volunteer applications exponentially. You’ll partner closely with our Career Center, marketing, and GTM teams to develop dynamic content that educates and drives action from technical audiences. More importantly, you will pilot different experiments and initiatives to increase CodePath’s brand awareness in technical communities and create a growing ecosystem of engineering volunteers and evangelists.

Key ActivitiesComplete an in-depth analysis of our volunteer audience and define our target audience for individual and corporate volunteer outreachDevelop, execute, and optimize individual and corporate outreach and nurture programs to 10X our volunteer applications and served volunteers by EOY 2024Create compelling messaging and content, including but not limited to blogs, videos, newsletters, etc., to drive awareness, interest, and volunteer signups from technical audiencesRepresent CodePath at virtual and in-person technical events to meet, educate, and nurture prospective volunteers and corporate partnersLead data-driven experiments and new initiatives to improve metrics across the volunteer funnel, increasing volunteer return rates by 2.5XWork closely with Career Center, Marketing, and GTM teams to establish and expand relationships with corporate volunteer partners

Qualifications Must-HavesA strong technical foundation and 4+ years of working experience as a developer advocate, software engineer, solutions engineer, or equivalent, ideally in a fast-paced, startup environmentExtensive experience building, launching, and managing developer outreach and engagement programs from scratchExtensive experience with corporate outreach and strategic partnership developmentExtensive experience creating content for technical audiences independentlyExcellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsWillingness to travel up to 25% for speaking engagements, events, and partner meetings

Pay range$100,000—$125,000 USD
