PHP Developer

PHP Developer role- 6 month contract to hire, 100% remote, option to go on site!

Our customer is looking to add a PHP developer to their team. They are increasing headcount for this team and are adding this new position. This individual will sit on a tight knit team that supports and collaborates with one another often. This will be the 4th new developer this team has added in the last year.

Starting out the candidate will learn the legacy system and will be primarily doing maintenance development. As they get more and more comfortable with the systems and code base, they will gain more responsibilities with other projects. Right now they have several projects that include updating their customer payment application, maintaining/updating their dashboard, developing scripts that move data across their DMC (pricing analysis). They are also still doing a web services rewrite and moving ecommerce over to the lamp stack.

Day to Day would consist of coding in full SDLC (wire frames, testing code, deploying it) about 90-95% of day. The rest of the time would consist of taking care of tickets (bugs/request). Business requirements and stakeholder work is very little because that’s what the director handles, over time they may have more work in this area. Lots of communication with the others on the team, needs to be open. It is a fast pace environment but they will take their time to ramp this individual up. Overall this role will be a mix of maintaining legacy applications and new. Because this is a smaller environment, they would like someone who can adapt and wear multiple hats if needed.
