Power BI Developer

The Power BI developer will have in-depth hands-on experience with Power BI, responsible for building, analyzing, enhancing, and supporting best in class, business focused reporting and analytics. Experienced Business Intelligence developer capable of building BI solutions to better understand business and enable stakeholders to take informed decisions. In addition to developing and creating data visualization solutions, data querying, analytical tools and reporting, the Power BI developer is expected to provide thought leadership and business analysis support as needed.

The Power BI developer will also be the one to drive the migration efforts of any analytics tools to the preferred tool. Will work very closely with vendors, internal stakeholders as well as the users.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo understand business requirements in the BI context and design data models to convert raw data to meaningful insights, develop BI data models, and create the required visualizations using Power BI, DAX, Power Query.To support and train (when required) the user community across the enterpriseTo continue to update the governance model to ensure best practice and easy adoption of the tool without losing control on allowing users to discovery new insights in their dataEnsure the BI community, developers, users, stakeholders are all averse with the governance model.Guide and support colleagues to develop their skillsCreate the center of excellence to ensure efficient use of resources, provide the best service to users/stakeholders, reduction in operation costs by eliminating inefficient practices and cutting implementation time for new skills and technologies, can help users adapt to improve how they work, share effective techniques with one another, capture viable techniques, and support individual and team learningFocus on finding best practices and disseminating them to all usersMonitor the system to ensure no overuse of resources by single dashboardsTo identify KPIs with clear objectives and monitor them consistently.To analyze data and present it through reports that can help in decision-making.To be able to convert business requirements into technical specifications and decide the timeline to accomplish tasks.To design, develop, and deploy Power BI scripts and perform efficient detailed analysis.To perform DAX queries and functions in Power BI.To create charts and document data with algorithms, parameters, models, and relations explanations.To conduct data warehouse development.To perform SQL querying for best results.To use filters and graphs for a better understanding of the data.To define and design new systems by analyzing current ETL processes.To make technical changes to existing BI systems in order to enhance their working.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSWith at least 3-4 years of professional experience in data analytics environmentBachelor's degree in MIS / Business / IT or a similar subject with strong exposure to information technology.Substantial knowledge and working experience with Power BI, SQL, DAX, Power Query, functional/unit testing as part of technology support BIAble to connect to any datasource (incls APIs, RDBMS, Postgres, HANA, Azure Synapse, sharepoint, excel etc)Knowledge in the Full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including Requirements, Design, Development, Testing and Deployment is an advantage.Experience administering Power BI, Tenant configuration/setup, Embedding analyticsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to provide technical and end-user supportExcellent time management skill is a must
