Responsibilities

REI Systems is looking for a Database Developer with strong database knowledge to join our team. In this role, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of data in transactional databases. Your responsibility will be to support technical solutions to the ever-growing operation and maintenance needs of the customers with data management.

Position Overview:

Strong understanding of the logical and physical database modeling and design concepts. Understand the data model of large Enterprise level system. Designing and maintaining database tables, views, stored procedures, and functions. Good understanding of database tuning, query tuning, and indexing strategies. Good experience of writing complex database queries, stored procedures, functions, and views. Having hands-on experience with writing complex queries and performing data analysis. Daily support of production environment to resolve user reported issues. Work in a collaborative office environment with other developers, business analysts, and a project management team. Work with the development team and implement database policies and processes to ensure data integrity and seamless deployment of application enhancements to testing and production environments. Understand the business needs and work with system owners and project managers to develop and implement complex querying and report solutions using datasets available through existing systems and datasets external to the customer unit. Ensure that new database code meets standards for readability, reliability, and performance. Ensure timely delivery of reports and manage conflicting priorities and customer expectations. Research and identify root cause/data issues.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance Employer will accept a suitable combination of education, training, or experience 3-5 years of hands-on experience designing, developing, maintaining, and troubleshooting relational databases like PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle. Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, business intelligence, economics, statistics, or mathematics. Strong communication and teamwork abilities Ready to embrace a fast-paced work environment with deadlines and new challenges

Desired Skills:

1-3 years of experience with PostgreSQL database Experience with improving performance on enterprise applications Solid understanding of CI/CD pipeline Experience delivering solutions using Agile delivery practices Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git/GitHub/GitLab Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Education: Bachelor's degree is required

Clearance: The candidate must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance.

Location: This position can be done remotely.
