We’re looking for a Power BI Developer to come on board and help us provide an outstanding reporting service to internal and external customers.
We know that accessing the meaning in data brings incredible insight and value to organisations, and would like you to help us build reports and dashboards which assist our customers in understanding their technical environments and service state.
What is the role?
As a Power BI Developer at PowerON, you will design, develop and maintain Power BI reports for both internal and customer-facing use, aiming to make data accessible, accurate and easily digestible. You’ll work with stakeholders to define the reporting approach, and implement your understanding of good practice to produce validated reports to the agreed timescales and priorities.
Who are we looking for?
From a technical perspective, you’ll need a deep understanding of Power BI (of course!) with the ability to design, maintain and troubleshoot data models and reports. If you have Microsoft certifications to validate this, that’s great, but not essential. You’ll need proven expertise in Dax, Power Query, SQL queries and R Scripting to manipulate and manage complex data sets. And you will need to be able to optimize and troubleshoot datasets using well known tools such as DAX Studio and Tableau Editor.
Beyond the tech, you’ll need to be an analytical thinker, with the capacity to extract insights and trends from data, and to design reports that communicate meaning. You’ll need to be detail-focused, paying meticulous attention to data accuracy and report quality, and spotting mistakes that others may miss. And you will be a problem solver, enjoying the challenge of trouble-shooting reports, and exploring a new requirement to work out the best solution.
You need to be able to demonstrate experience of the full development cycle – from requirement gathering, through data source management, data transformation and data models to report design and release, ideally working within a DevOps lifecycle within Git and Azure DevOps.
