We are currently seeking Sr. Ruby on Rails Developer to join our Edge team as a full time fully remote or hybrid employee in our Franklin, TN office. This position will help support current projects, as well as build new web applications and APIs. You will be responsible for the development of full stack applications, working collaboratively both within our team and across the company. You will be joining a geographically-dispersed team who is fully responsible for the development, deployment, and operations of the applications they develop.

A successful candidate will be comfortable with Test Driven Development, Paired Programming, and Continuous Integration. Our team makes use of git, AWS, Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Puppet, Vagrant, jQuery and Vue.js. Previous experience in all of these specific areas is not required, but these are some examples of tools you’ll be using while you work here.

Responsibilities:

Participate in the planning, design, coding, testing, debugging, configuring, and implementation phases of software development Apply generally accepted programming standards and techniques to write code and help ensure efficient program logic and data manipulation Ruby on Rails developmentResponsive front-end web development using modern JS frameworksRESTful API and GraphQL developmentTeam collaboration and development planningAdhere to Scrum and Agile MethodologiesParticipate in back-end infrastructure developmentExtreme programming (XP) practicesTeam collaboration and development planningRemain up to date with industry best practices and trendsProvide guidance and mentorship to junior team membersProvide support to business users as neededParticipate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related codeActive engagement in understanding user needsDevelop a deep understanding of the automotive auction industryOther duties as assigned

Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in a software related field or equivalent work experience is required5 or more years of current Rails development experience5 or more years of JavaScript web front-end development experienceVue.js development experience would be a significant plusUnderstanding of RESTful API concepts and best practicesDesire to work in a collaborative and team-oriented atmosphereProven track record of mentoring junior team membersAbility to effectively work and communicate with a geographically-dispersed teamAbility to collaborate with team members in order to come up with solutions to problems, and maximize the application's value5 or more years working with databases (PostgreSQL preferred).Experience working with Agile principles such as Scrum, Kanban and XPStrong AWS experience preferred
