Senior Frontend Developer

MoneySmart Group is South East Asia's leading personal financial portal helping consumers compare loans, insurance, and credit cards. MoneySmart was founded in 2009 with the simple aim to help consumers make better financial decisions.

We are growing and we’re looking for talents to come onboard our Technology team as a Senior Frontend Developer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

MissionMoneySmart provides a variety of products and services across multiple countries in the SEA region. Our major focus areas are on media to educate our users and product comparisons to offer our users the best financial products in the market. To support this we run a range of applications aimed at getting users onto our site via our blog and widgets that appear on 3rd party sites. We also offer comparisons of financial products that we are scaling across multiple product channels and countries.Your mission is to build an amazing user experience for our internal & external clients using the latest and most powerful tools for the modern web.

You will work alongside the design and development teams to understand stakeholder requirements. Together with the rest of the front end developers you will turn the design team's wildest and most challenging ideas into a reality.

You will take ownership of the front end development of our suite of apps, and come up with the specifications that will guide the rest of the team. Most developers you will be working with have some knowledge of how to write front-end code. You’ll work with them to round out the rough edges to make the site look & work beautifully across all the major browsers and devices.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop new user-facing featuresBuild new reusable code modules and contribute to the existing front end ecosystemEnsure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designsOptimize front end app performance and SEO standardsAdd to and improve shared web applications and Design SystemEnsure stable & robust front-end applicationsBuild responsive front-ends for mobile, tablets & desktopsWork closely with the design team to develop & bring the designs to lifeExpert on modern software development with a preference for Agile methodsDeep understanding of the internet and the technology that powers itAccurate estimator who understands the complexities of a multi-skilled teamExpert software developer with a passion for the web and its underlying technologiesPassion for data, testing, and building a world-class customer experienceDesign front end apps and write good quality test driven codeContribute to and evolve the design system and shared modules used across front end applicationsMeaningful PR reviews of peer codeUnblock team when there are technical issuesIdentify areas and improve application performance and security

RequirementsBachelors in computer science or related engineering field5+ years of experience in Software development with focus on front end applicationsMust be proficient in HTML5, CSS, SCSSShould be competent in ES6+, JavaScript and have experience with TypeScriptExperience with web frameworks such as Vue.js, React etcExperience with a Web Application framework like Nuxt.jsExperienced in designing and maintenance of front end appsKnowledge of building and maintaining front end design systems that can be scaled across multiple applicationsShould understand responsive design and how to write code that will run across a range of browsers in the modern ecosystemMust understand SEO principles and ensure our front-end adheres to themHaving worked on Ruby on Rails projects or Wordpress is an advantage
