Java API Developer(*US Citizen)

Lakarya is seeking a technical, self-motivated Software Developer to join our team to support an essential modernization program for the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Federal Student Aid. As a member of our Agile development team, you will support several complex and high-volume customer systems. The ideal candidate would have experience developing in Java and building web-based application front-end solutions in Angular. Responsibilities:Work as a member of a scrum team to develop, integrate, and deploy high quality reusable, testable, and efficient code including web-based front-end components and microservices with Java, Angular, Spring Boot, and REST API’sDeveloping front-end interfaces to call microservices that include RESTful services incorporating both Angular and Spring Framework (IoC, MVC, Transactions, Security, and Batch)Writing Unit Test frameworks (JUnit, Mocking frameworks), code coverage, and code review and integrating work with GitLabWorking within a SAFe environment that includes consistent leadership support, continued learning education, refining user stories, providing internal and customer demonstrations of developed codeContributing within a SAFe environment including the Daily scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Retrospectives, Backlog grooming, Sprint/System Demos, PI Planning, and Inspect & Adapt eventsRequired Skills/Experience:5+ of related experience in software developmentExperience with Java and developing/maintaining front-end components using Angular to call microservicesProficient with LinuxKnowledge of REST API, JSONExperience testing front-end components using Selenium and similar toolsExperience using API test cases in SOAP UI, PostMan, or ReadyAPI.Experience with common web development frameworks (Angular, Docker, React, Spring, Node.js, jQuery, Microservice Design, etc.)Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.U.S. Citizen with existing or the ability to pass a Public Trust background investigation.Desired Skills/Experience:Experience with GitLab DevOps/CI/CD platformExperience with an IDE such as eclipse.
