Job Title:Graduate Python Developer – Web Scraping and Crawling Location:Remote Contract Length:3 months About us:Automate is an early stage innovative B2C retail technology startup based in the UK, dedicate to transforming the retail landscape through cutting edge solutions. We are seeking motivated and talented individuals to join our team and embark on an exciting journey of revolutionising the retail industry. Position Overview:We are looking for three enthusiastic and highly skilled Python Engineers to join our team on a contract basis. As a Python Engineer specialised in web scraping and crawling, you will play a critical role in building 27 custom retailer product scraper/crawlers that comprehensively scrape all available product data from leading UK retailer websites. No direct experience is required, as we will provide comprehensive training. Your primary focus will be to harness your Python skills and develop a deep understanding of the Scrapy framework, libraries, modules, tools and techniques. Key Responsibilities:· Collaborate with our lead developer to develop custom web scraping and crawling solutions.· Create and maintain 27, fully tested, out of the box, product scraper/crawlers for top UK retailer websites.· Ensure that all scraped data is accurate and up-to-date.· Contribute to the development and optimisation of innovative data extraction techniques. Qualifications & Skills:· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relate field from an Armenian university.· Strong Python skills.· Knowledge and interest in web scraping and open-source scraping frameworks, libraries and tools.· No direct experience using Scrapy is necessary but some prior experience using lxml and/or Beautiful Soup libraries is required.· Excellent written and spoken English.· Positive attitude, strong work ethic, diligence, and attention to detail.· Hunger, drive and a desire to learn and grow.· Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.· Pro-activity, resourcefulness and problem-solving skills.· Quick learner with a can-do attitude. Remuneration:The lump sum, payment upon completion project compensation is based upon an appropriate competitive monthly remuneration for Graduate Python roles. This specific final agreed salary is based on several factors: 1. Educational Background: As this role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from an Armenian university, we recognise the dedication and hard work put into obtaining this qualification.2. Technical Skills: The role necessitates a strong grasp of Python and some knowledge of lxml and/or Beautiful Soup. Although Scrapy, other web scraping libraries, tools and frameworks are preferred, direct experience is not required.
