Software Engineer, Developer Productivity

We’re evolving streaming beyond the Apache Kafka® protocol into a unified “engine of record” that delivers a categorical reduction in complexity, wicked-fast performance, onboard Wasm transforms, and transparent tiered storage that gives consumers access to both real-time and historical data from a single API.

About the Role:

In this role, you will develop and maintain tools to build, deploy, provision and configure infrastructure used in the development and release of Redpanda Data’s line of products. Working within the Developer Productivity (DevProd) team, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of Redpanda's software delivery processes and practices. This is an opportunity to work closely with product and engineering leadership teams at a fast-growing, well-funded startup.

You Will:

Be a part of our Developer Productivity team, working with all of engineering to support development, QA and overall software delivery activitiesDesign, build, and maintain build/testing infrastructure, with usability and agility in mindBuild tools & services to automate the deployment and testing of our softwareLead initiatives that have the overall goal of improving the productivity of the Engineering organizationParticipate in on-call rotations, working to keep developer workloads running and incident free

You Have:

10+ years of software development experience Passion for building tools and improving engineering velocityPublic cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure), specifically automating tasks on cloud infrastructure with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or PulumiExperience with configuration management frameworks such as Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Salt, etc.Excellent shell scripting skillsExperience writing software projects in Python or GoExperience automating software delivery tasks in CI/CD systemsExperience building and running containers locally (docker) or on the cloud (Kubernetes)Familiarwith and the ability to dive into new coding languages and frameworks

U.S. base salary range for this role is $184,000 - $217,000 (CO, TX) and $212,000 - $250,000 (CA, NY). Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. As a remote-first company, we strive to consider each candidate's job-related skills, location, experience, relevant education or training to determine individual base salary.
