About The Job

The Red Hat Ecosystem Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in Durham, North Carolina or Raleigh NC (HYBRID). In this role, you will develop and maintain Red Hat Ansible collections. You'll gain an understanding of our partners' infrastructures and business needs and make recommendations appropriate to their environment to create possibilities and resolve issues. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with partners on various specific initiatives, including architecture, deployment, troubleshooting, and performance of ansible playbooks. You will also support other engineers, associates, and partners in developing best practices and methods.

What You Will Do

Serve as a trusted adviser for Red Hat engineers and project and technical managers to deliver and implement the right solutions for our partners and customers Serve as a subject matter expert, addressing customer technical, development, and IT issues and need Must be willing to work Hybrid in Raleigh or Durham NC. Learn new technologies and apply those concepts to customer needs Adapt to changing customer requirements Manage technical problem identification and resolution, support system architecture definition, software specification and design, testing, and deployment of open source solutions Participate in internal initiatives, create consulting white papers, and update the knowledge base Keep stakeholders updated on issues that may affect project or company performance Respond to incidents, escalations, and exceptions, and handle sensitive conversations in a professional manner Kick off new projects, guide the implementation team and monitor the progress of a project

What You Will Bring

2+ years of experience developing Python-based applications or related experience Extensive knowledge of Ansible 2+ years of experience working with enterprise customers on a range of development and deployment projects Experience with Linux-based operating systems (RHEL is a plus) Practical experience of developing features against REST and API endpoints OpenShift knowledge is a plus Knowledge of automation practices and principles Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, project management, and planning skills Practical experience with or knowledge of Python-based applications or related experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
