Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior PHP developer to join our team. As a PHP Developer, you will play a crucial role in leading the technical aspects of our e-commerce projects, providing guidance to the development team. Your primary focus will be on leveraging your strong knowledge of Spryker, PHP, or Symphony framework to design and implement scalable and efficient software solutions.

This is a client-facing job and the ability to fluently communicate is key. Short-term travel is occasionally required.

Responsibilities And Duties

Works on RFP/RFI/RFQ responses Lead the technical aspects of e-commerce projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and define technical strategies. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the development team, ensuring adherence to best practices. Conduct code reviews, identify areas for improvement, and provide constructive feedback to ensure the delivery of high-quality code. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Stay updated on the latest industry trends and emerging technologies related to PHP development and e-commerce platforms. Define and enforce development standards and practices, ensuring code quality, performance, and security. Troubleshoot complex technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions. Collaborate with project managers and participate in the planning and estimation of project timelines and deliverables. Evaluate and recommend appropriate tools, technologies, and frameworks to enhance development processes and productivity. Equally comfortably works in Agile and Waterfall project setups Participates in project governance responsible for technical excellence Occasionally travels to client locations for sales pitches

Qualifications

University degree or equivalent Proven experience in developing applications using Magento or Symphony + PHP Previous experience with Spryker is an advantage Proven experience with at least 8+ years of experience in e-commerce projects. Strong proficiency in PHP programming language and expertise in Magento or Symphony framework. Solid understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns. Experience in leading and guiding development teams, providing technical mentorship and direction. Deep knowledge of e-commerce platforms and familiarity with industry best practices for e-commerce development. Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues. Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. Experience with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure. Knowledge of DevOps practices is an advantage. Domain knowledge in one or more of the following is an advantage: Retail, Automotive, Telecom, CPG is an advantage. Excellent written and verbal English. German language is an advantage. Strong soft skills and the ability to listen is a must. Domain certifications are an advantage.
