We embed advanced analytics into the DNA of decision-making across our customer product suite as well as our own internal operations.

As a senior software engineer, you will play an important role in helping to build and expand our data platform. In this cross-functional role, you will develop a deep understanding of our business producing a faculty information system that enables faculty, researcher, and institutional success.
In this role, you’ll get to:Design and build our data platform and related analytical tools using Ruby on Rails, GoLang, and SQLLead and plan with DataOps team members and DevOps to identify and implement data strategy in accordance with data sources, data locations, and business use cases Create and maintain complex and scalable enterprise-level microservices Improve scalability, service reliability, capacity, and performance Leverage third party APIs to build integrations with other systems Establish data streaming and CDC architecture using Kafka and Debezium Work with large codebases to identify opportunities for refactoring or migration to external services Participate in code review and mentoring of other team members Produce robust automated unit tests
Required Qualifications: Proficient producing high-quality code in Ruby on Rails or GoLang Strong knowledge of SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including database and query design techniquesExperience building CDC streaming services using Kafka and Debezium Expertise with service-oriented architectures (SOA), REST APIs, and GraphQL Skilled in using git for version control Experience with gems such as PRY, Rubocop, RSPEC, CANCANCAN Demonstrated ability to focus and carefully step through intricate logic to research and identify root causes behind data anomalies Insatiable curiosity and eagerness to learn Patient, methodical, detail-oriented, and comfortable pivoting based on business needs Strong logical and quantitative skills; ability to grasp business context behind the data Self-starter, positive problem-solving outlook, ability to multi-task, and demonstrated strong organizational skills
