Creative Frontend Developer

The Creative Frontend Developer on our Production team is a high profile role focusing on delivering high-quality, innovative solutions for our clients. Your expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and various tools and frameworks will be crucial to our success. This role can be performed from Vancouver, BC or 100% remotely from anywhere in Canada or the United States, working Pacific hours.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

In this role, you will lead development projects, set up new project environments, and contribute to the design and maintenance of our internal development standards. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality code by conducting reviews and testing. Your expertise in current design and prototyping tools and UX principles will contribute to the creation of user-centric, accessible, and engaging digital experiences. A major part of your role will be to collaborate with the Delivery team to ensure projects align with the timeline and plan.

ResponsibilitiesLead development projects and project teams.Research and deploy new technologies for creative development.Maintain and refine internal development standards, libraries, frameworks, and systems.Ensure high-quality code through conducting reviews and testing.Participate in peer reviews of solution designs and related code.Collaborate with the Delivery team to develop project plans, ensuring projects align with plan and timeline.

Skills and proficienciesBSc/BA in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.6+ years of web projects delivery in an agency environment.Expertise in writing semantic HTML, modular CSS, and performant JavaScript.Expertise with GSAP, WebGL, SVG.A love of animation and creative execution in frontend builds with a portfolio of work that showcases this experience and passion.Experience with NodeJs, React, and version control (GIT).Familiarity with current design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision Studio, Webflow, Axure RP, etc.).Strong understanding of UX principles, including user-centricity, consistency, hierarchy, context, user control, and accessibility (ADA WCAG 2.0 protocols).Strong problem-solving skills, able to deal with ambiguity, and exercise sound business judgment.Excellent written communication, oral presentation, and interpersonal skills.Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
