Contribute to impactful projects in a culture defined by our core values: experience, trust, passion, and results.Position Overview:Crossvale is looking for a passionate and motivated Developer with experience building Prometheus Exporters and desired knowledge on Grafana SDK for plugin development.Duties and Responsibilities:General role duties The Prometheus Exporter Developer will design, develop, and maintain Prometheus exporters to collect and expose metrics from different applications, services, and systems. Define and implement metric collection mechanisms for monitoring specific aspects of software applications or infrastructure components.Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate Prometheus exporters into existing applications and systems.Conduct thorough testing of Prometheus exporters to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance of metric collection.Create and maintain documentation for Prometheus exporters, including usage guidelines and best practices.Assist in the setup and configuration of Prometheus monitoring systems, including the integration of custom exporters.Identify and resolve issues related to metric collection, exporter performance, and integration with Prometheus.Continuously optimize and improve Prometheus exporters for better efficiency and resource utilization.Follow team/client established practices for source control management systems and code delivery.Work with customers to translate their specific needs into products / services. Implement and develop functionality from defined business requirements.Work as part of a distributed Agile team. Specific position duties:Participate in architecture review of existing system.Work under direction from team leader/solution architect.Continuously develop relationships at the "implementation" level within each customer relationship.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or MIS/IT or equivalent experience.Proficient in programming languages such as Go, Python, or other languages commonly used for exporter development.In-depth understanding of Prometheus monitoring and the Prometheus data model.Familiarity with metrics collection concepts and experience in designing and implementing monitoring solutions.Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to metric collection.Ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation for both technical and non-technical users. Desired Qualifications:Go language is a plus.Experience working in DevOps environments.Experience with version control systems such as Git.Familiarity with CI/CD practices for automated testing and deployment.
