Position Summary As a Mid-Level Backend Developer, you will play an instrumental role in architecting the foundation and back-end systems for our products. You will work closely with product managers and front-end engineers to plan, build and optimize high-quality RESTful APIs and cloud-based back-end services.

Key ResponsibilitiesOwn backend development — Own the server-side and API code to deliver robust and scalable servicesWrite clean, efficient code — Produce reusable back-end components using languages and frameworks best practicesCollaborate with front-end developers — Work closely with UI engineers to integrate consumer-facing interfacesContribute to documentation — Create clear documentation covering API contracts, service endpoints, payload schemasIdentify backend improvements — Proactively recommend optimizations for performance, scalability, reliability and securityEstablish backend conventions — Drive consistent standards and architectures across back-end systems and servicesConduct code reviews — Perform peer critiques to ensure back-end code quality and alignmentCommunicate with stakeholders — Clearly and confidently engage with clients and collaborators to represent the technical needs of the project.

Required Skills and Experience3+ years of professional experience with back-end developmentPython, Node.js, Ruby, Go, Java, Kotlin, C++, RustExperience with database technologies knowledge such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL and related ORMs such as Prisma or Kysely.Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as: Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS, Github Actions.Proven experience in building RESTful APIs.Knowledge of web performance optimization and accessibility best practicesStrong understanding of web and mobile application architectures.Passion for delivering robust and maintainable solutions.Comfortable with taking ownership of projects.Analytical approach to discovering root causes and articulating solutions clearlyOrganized with the capability to manage multiple projects.Strong written and verbal communicator, collaborates well clients & colleaguesAlways eager to learn and expand their skill set.Actively shares knowledge: Tech Talks, code walkthroughs, demos, etc.Bonus skills:tRPC, NeonDB, PlanetScale.Edge architecture (e.g. Vercel Edge functions).Containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.Infrastructure tools: Terraform, Puppet, AWS/Azure/GCD, Datadog, Splunk, Ansible, Prometheus.
