Who You Are
As a Salesforce Developer, you will be someone with an expert understanding of the Salesforce platform and other business systems, and a seasoned professional with the ability to provide strategic, analytical and project support to quickly identify and implement areas of improvement. This role will involve working closely with varied internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and to ensure proper communication, documentation, prioritization and accurate management of all aspects of our projects. The ideal candidate will be happy liaising at all levels, with the ability to translate technical information into layman’s terms, clearly explaining design options and their potential impact. This role is for someone who is excellent at translating business requirements into technology solutions.
Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of a Salesforce Developer include but are not limited to:
Serve as a systems administrator/developer for the Salesforce environmentHandle basic to intermediate administrative functions including, but not limited to: user account maintenance, permissions, public groups, sharing rules, reports and dashboards, flows and other tasksWork with integrated applications including AWS Connect, Adobe Sign, Conga, Celigo, NetSuite, LinkSquares, Mailchimp and others (previous experience is desirable)Develop, test and document Flows, APEX, Visualforce, Lightning Component Framework, page layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administration, validation rules, custom fields and objects, etc.Troubleshoot system issues and outages where requiredImplement process automations and other new or enhanced features when necessaryPerform audits of Production/Sandbox environments Identify and evaluate Salesforce efficiency, helping to outline potential opportunities to streamline and improve processesReview, test and plan Salesforce regular release and packaged app updatesIdentify and gather requirements, translating them into scalable solutions with a focus on exceptional user experience and best practicesIdentify unused or underutilized platform featuresCommunication of any platform changes to end users and managementTechnical and training documentation
Required Skills and Experience
University degree/diploma in a technical subjectMinimum 3 years of experience in administration and development of Salesforce’s Sales and Service Clouds with:Experience implementing Salesforce configuration changes, including, but not limited to: Flows, APEX, Visualforce, Lightning Component Framework, Javascript, HTML, approval processes, fields, page layouts, roles and permissions, record types, dynamic layouts, apps, actions, custom settings, mobile administrationAdvanced knowledge of Salesforce permissions, roles, reports, dashboards, etc.Experience with APIs and integrating apps and third-party services into complex Salesforce environmentsSalesforce certifications e.g. Developer, Advanced Administrator, Platform App Builder, CPQ Specialist (considered an asset)Strong understanding of Salesforce.com best practices and functionalityAt least 2-5 years of experience in analyzing requirements, writing functional specifications, conducting tests and interfacing with business usersStrong data management abilitiesA documented history of successfully driving projects to completionPrevious experience working in a fast-paced and high-growth environment preferredA proactive attitude to platform enhancementsExcellent relationship-building and communication skillsAbility to liaise with stakeholders at all levels
Location
This position is open to all applicants located in Canada, although strong preference will be given to those located in Ottawa and those willing to work within the Eastern Time Zone. We offer supportive and flexible work arrangements to all our employees - a mix of in-office and virtual.
