Role DescriptionThe successful candidate will work on developing, refining, and implementing interactive web-based mapping applications, leveraging Mapbox GL JS, and other modern web development frameworks, in an efficient way. The successful candidate will also work closely with our tech lead responding to code reviews to maintain high code quality standards developing custom GIS web applications and conducting geospatial data research and analysis.
QualificationsExcellent communicationGood teamwork skillsNot afraid to make questionsFamiliarity using Scrum/Agile development methodologies20h of weekly availability to work in our projects3+ years of experience in front-end web development, with significant experience using Mapbox GL JS and other modern web development frameworksExperience working with GIS technologies, geospatial data, and cartographyKnowledge of web mapping standards and protocols (WMS, WFS, GeoJSON, etc.)Ability to work with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutionsAvailability for part-time engagement with the potential for future full-time involvement based on performanceStrong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skillsExcellent English written skillsWould be great if the developer has knowledge/experience with open sources platforms like open street maps, geoserver, etc.Knowledge or experience with Ember.js and PostGIS also desirable
