Java/SQL Developer

The Opportunity Baton Simulations is looking for a junior/intermediate detail oriented and motivated individual to join the development team as a Java/SQL Developer. This role will work with the development team to develop and maintain our business simulation, ERPsim, and our Digital Acceleration Solution (DAS/SmartDAS), which showcase the latest innovations in the SAP ecosystem, while also being in close communication with the support team to fix technical issues and support users.

What we’re looking for Java, J2EE and JDBC development experience is a must. Good SQL, Stored Procedures and Functions experience is essential. SAP HANA database and usage of SAP HANA Predictive Analysis Library (PAL) is certainly a bonus. OData and REST services consumption experience is required. Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning (ML) concepts knowledge and experience is a plus. Experience in development environments such as Eclipse and GitHub is required. Previous experience with ERPsim, the business simulation based on SAP S/4HANA, is a definite advantage. Problem solving: You are able to think creatively and work collaboratively with teams to solve technical challenges. Action-Oriented: You have a bias towards action. Decision making: You feel comfortable making decisions regarding requirement prioritization, scope, assessing viability of solutions, etc. Good listener & communicator: You are able to gather relevant requirements, a key part of the role, so the ability to ask the right questions and correctly understand the information received is essential. Documentation and writing skills: You are able to contribute to the drafting of documents such as technical user guides.

What you are bringing Previous experience with ERPsim (Academic or Commercial version) will set you apart. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline such as business or computer science. Master’s degree is an asset. 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar role in a technology or software company. High level understanding of SAP solutions. Multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, as most of your duties will be carried out in English. Good verbal and written communication skills in French are a plus, but not required. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Outlook, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Teams.

Where you will be working All duties can be done remotely. Must be able to primarily work during Baton Simulation’s primary business hours, 9:00am-5:00pm, ET.
