Remote role, only open to applicants residing in South Africa.

The role will be part of a development team working on different client’s projects. Will include assisting in the design and development and modernization of existing processes.

Responsibilities:Review current systems and present ideas for system improvements on current projects.Code and write programmes according to best practice.Test the programmes in controlled, real situations before going live.Maintain client systems as per project or client requirements once they are up and running.Research, suggest and implement software and security best practice. Drive discussions with the Software team regarding trade-off’s, best practices and risk mitigation.Create and maintain documentation as it relates to projects and business requirements.Attend and contribute to requirements gathering meetings with Client and the team.Ensure that the highest support and maintenance standards are being maintained.

Experience required:Back-end development – PHP (MVC) and SQL - 4+ years’ experience required. Front-end development – 2+ years advantageous.

Key qualities and skills:The ability to work independently and manage own projects where possible.Excellent client liaison skills: this role is client facing.Ability to break tasks and projects down; good problem-solving skills, communication, and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure.Honest and reliable, with a strong sense of accountability.

Advantageous skills or experienceIT related Diploma or Degree.AWS experience.
