Scala Developer - Risk Orchestration

Signicat has an opportunity for a talented Scala Developer to join our Risk Orchestration team in Portugal.Our team builds and maintains Signicat’s RiskFlow Orchestration Platform; a ‘low-code’ anti-fraud, AML and identity orchestration platform /suite of services and applications that support our in-house team of experts, building and maintaining risk management processes for our customers in the fast-moving digital economy.

As a Scala Engineer in the Risk Orchestration team, you’ll get to work with a wide range of cutting edge techniques and languages, and will operate in an environment where individual responsibility is key.

The environmentSignicat operate a state-of-the-art cloud-based infrastructure and a DevOps mindset of “you build it, you run it”, giving our Engineers full end to end ownership and autonomy. As such the Scala Developer position will need someone who will accept full responsibility for their work, since release is automatic and often dependent on successful automated tests only.

Whilst the primary focus of the role will be our core Scala transaction processing engine and associated microservices, the system uses a wide range of technology that you’ll be able to work with including;

Javascript, AngularScala ZIO, Java, nodeCloud Firestore, MongoDb, BigQuery, PostgresqlGCPKubernetesPrometheus, Stackdriver, ISTIOGitHUB, CircleCI, ZAP

ResponsibilitiesWorking as directed by Architect & PO of the team to deliver incremental change to existing systemsWorking with operations to recreate, fix, test, and release issues with live codeWorking with senior members of the team on major new modules and functionalityDeveloping comprehensive test suites to confirm the correct and highly performant operation of code

What You’ll NeedExperience in high-performance functional programming with ScalaExperience in a DevOps team working to an agile sprint-based methodology3+ years experience in modern development techniquesAn enthusiastic and confident approach to self-teaching new technologies and techniques
