Our direct client, a large healthcare insurance company, is seeking to hire a Lead Java Developer for a contract-to-hire role office in Philadelphia, PA 19103.

The position offers optional work from home during contract duration - if you convert to full-time, you will need to be willing to be onsite 3x/week.

Job Title: Lead Java Developer

Location: 1901 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19103

Contract W2 Only (to-hire): 4 months contract-to-hire (will convert to perm. after 4 months)

Onsite optional during contract duration - should they convert, they will need to be willing to be onsite 3x/week.

Mandatory skills: Java / Angular

Preferred: Full Stack, understanding of AWS lambdas/Lex is a plus

Working Experience with subject matter in diverse environments.

Resource has worked with all basic components of the subject matter and can identify relevent standards, polices and practices. Individual has a strong understanding of the operational issues and considerations and can site examples of usage in different environments.

Resource will gain technical expertise and make recommendations for solutions which may impact the overall outcome of the project/assignment. Resource has the ability to work with clients/users to identify and scope their requirements.

This level should typically be used for a mid-level, fully proficient resource.

5+ years of full development life cycle experience -- from architecture through test and deployment, and cross platform skills.

Essential skills: Java/J2EE, WebSphere, JBoss, JSON, XML, XSLT,SOAP, Spring, Hibernate

Software development expertise includes object-oriented design and programming (OOD, OOP), user interface/front-end development (HTML, CSS and JavaScript including frameworks like Angular), business object/component development, and database programming.

Experience developing Web-based applications based on model-view-controller (MVC) design patterns and Java frameworks such as Spring desired. Experience with object-relational mapping tools such as Hibernate is also required.

Assist the in-house architect in the Web Services/Service Oriented Architecture (SOA)/Enterprise Server Bus (ESB) space.

The ability to work in an Agile environment and understand User Stories. *Experience with database design and modeling is desired.

Ability to communicate technical solutions to project management and the rest of the development team.
