Akira Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend ETL Developer who will play a key role in building data platform. This person will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust ETL pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our cloud data warehouse and data lake. You will work closely with data engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure that the data platform meets the needs of the organization.
This work is remote with occasional meetings in Washington, DC.
Job Responsibilities:Design, develop, and implement ETL pipelines using industry-standard tools and technologies.Perform data profiling and cleansing to ensure data quality and consistency.Develop data transformations to meet the specific needs of the data platform.Implement data security and governance best practices.Monitor and troubleshoot ETL processes to identify and resolve issues.Document ETL processes and procedures.Participate in code reviews and knowledge sharing within the team.Stay up-to-date on the latest ETL tools and technologies.May contribute to the design and development of the data platform architecture.Support gathering and analyzing gathering business requirements from stakeholders.Work with developers and other team members to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Preferred Qualifications:4+ years of experience as an ETL Developer or in a related role.Strong understanding of cloud data warehousing and data modeling concepts.Proficient in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).Experience with one or more ETL tools (e.g., Databricks).Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).Experience with text-based search infrastructure using industry-standard tools and technologies (e.g., Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Solr, Apache Lucene).
