The Role – Applications Developer – Java (Part-Time, Remote) We are seeking an experienced, remote Java Developer to join our team on a part-time, contractor basis. In this role, you will be developing and enhancing our cutting-edge, cloud-based applications. With a focus on backend development, you will be instrumental in driving our technical vision forward. This position is ideal for individuals with a passion for innovation and the agility to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment. The role will start with 10-20 hours per month.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop and optimize Java-based applications, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Node.js and AWS into our existing systems.Contribute to the design and development of new features and enhancements.Work on bug fixing and improving application performance.Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in Java development and implement best practices.

Required SkillsProficient in Java with a focus on backend development.Experience in Node.js and AWS environments.Experience within Linux operating systems, specifically Ubuntu 20.04 + and Amazon Linux.Demonstrated ability to develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software.Experience using Jira SoftwareStrong problem-solving skills and ability to think algorithmically.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred SkillsExperience with React and front-end development. Knowledge of SQL/Metadata and understanding of database management.Familiarity with HTML/CSS.AWS certifiedExperience utilizing Bitbucket Cloud
