We're seeking a talented mid-level backend engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of our platform as well as new integrations with third party apps. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Ruby and similar languages, web applications, a solid understanding of backend systems, and a passion for building scalable and reliable software solutions.

As a start-up we are seeking someone with a lot of grit, intelligence, and a strong work ethic. We aren’t looking for someone who wants to coast by in a 9-5. We are trying to change the world, and we want people who share that vision!

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby and related technologies. Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code to support various features and functionalities. Optimize and scale backend infrastructure to ensure high performance and reliability. Contribute to architectural and technical decisions to drive innovation and improve existing systems. Work closely with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements. Troubleshoot and debug issues, and implement effective solutions to address them promptly. Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in backend development to continually enhance our systems. Develop integrations with third party apps for data ingestion.

Requirements

3-5+ years of professional experience in Ruby backend development. Strong proficiency in Ruby on Rails framework and related tools. Experience with databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and similar technologies. Knowledge of RESTful APIs and experience in building and consuming them. Familiarity with cloud services and deployment (AWS, etc.). Understanding of software development methodologies and practices (Agile, Scrum, etc.). Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards learning and development. US Based only

Bonus Skills:

Start-up experience is a plus! Experience with front-end technologies like React and Next.js Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with microservices architecture.
