Talosmart Limited, a fast-growing IT firm in Nigeria is currently looking for a Senior developer with 3+ PHP/Laravel years of experience. The ideal candidate will efficiently and quickly write PHP in a timely and scalable way to improve the code base of the company's products in meaningful ways. This candidate will be able to test the code and make adjustments where necessary. They should also be experienced in contributing to the whole software design lifecycle. ResponsibilitiesWrite clean, well-designed codeTroubleshoot and test core product software to ensure strong optimizationContribute to all phases of the development lifecycleCollaborate with designers, front-end engineers, and incredibly talented back-end engineers to create a world-class fintech applicationParticipate in daily stand-up meetings and weekly knowledge-sharingExperience writing tests, identifying and resolving issues in support of a releaseContinuously improve the codebase to improve stability and performance (error handling and knowing when to refactor)Believe that continuous learning is an essential component of being a modern developer

QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science or related fieldExperience in software developmentPassion for best design and coding practicesStrong knowledge of relational databases, tools, and PHP skillsAt least 5+ years of experience working with PHP/Laravel and SQL5+ years of experience with REST/RESTful APIs3+ years of experience with Codeigniter.3+ years of experience with AWS.3+ years of experience with Google Cloud and Postman respectively.Must have in-depth knowledge of object-oriented PHP and Laravel frameworksIn-depth experience with SQL schema design, SOLID principles, and REST API designMust be creative and a problem-solverTake charge of the entire feature development life cycle, from concept to delivery and post-launch supportUse back-end integration services to help expand and maintain existing application services APIsIn addition to writing test scripts, contribute to the manual QA testing to identify and report bugs to the engineering teamStay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in backend development.Fluent in written and spoken EnglishAttention to detailsStrong communication skills, for effective written and verbal communicationStrong team player who can collaborate effectively with different stakeholdersManage time effectively, ability to multitask and meet deadlinesSelf-starter with the ability to work independently and collaborate with a teamOrganized and can prioritize effectively
