Sr. Software Developer (NodeJS)

Salary: $140K-$150KBonus: 12% bonus4-6 weeks of vacation100% remote across Canada

DescriptionWe’re looking for a Senior Software Developer who is passionate about code craftsmanship, continuous improvement, and agile development. You will be creating elegant solutions to the most complex challenges.As a Sr. Software Engineer, you will be joining an Engineering team focused on building the next generation of enterprise products. In this role, you will have an opportunity to work closely with Product, Data, and the rest of the Engineering team on enhancing the most critical features of our product offering while scaling and evolving the technical foundation it is built.

ResponsibilitiesWork closely with a collaborative agile team, provide mentorship, and thoughtful code reviews.Work in a cross-functional team contributing to the full stack.Contribute scalable software artifacts that are easy to understand and simple to maintain.Adhere to and advocate for best practices.Solve problems relating to mission-critical services.Build automation to prevent problem recurrence to automate responses to all non-exceptional service conditions.Vet cutting-edge libraries, and web standards, and weigh them against established ones.

QualificationsMaster’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, with strong fundamentals and problem-solving skills.5+ years experience in software development roles.We use ReactJS for our micro-front-end architecture. Experience with this or similar frameworks is desired.We build microservices on AWS (including a variety of managed services) and using a mix of technologies including Node.js, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Docker and Kubernetes (EKS).Experience in some of these technologies and an eagerness to learn others is required.Computer Science fundamentals experience in data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.Expert knowledge and capabilities in OO design/development.
