Why this role is important:Reporting to the Back End Developer Lead, the Sr. Software Developer (Back End) at Igloo Software is a pivotal member of the Software Development team, working alongside a team of developers to deliver high-quality, scalable, and well-architected solutions. This position emphasizes not just feature delivery but also code quality and best practices.

The impact you will have:Develop and deliver robust, scalable, and high-quality solutions for Igloo’s flagship software and servicesTake ownership of identifying and resolving issues within our codebase, conducting thorough troubleshooting to diagnose and rectify problems efficiently, ensuring the smooth operation and performance of our software and services.Collaborate closely with the architecture team and other developers to make informed, coherent development decisions.Ensure code quality by advocating for and implementing testing strategies.Provide proactive, transparent, and concise communication on work statusDevelop documentation related to software development projects (design artifacts, test plans/cases, etc.)Collaborate and work effectively within Igloo and our globally distributed teams
The keys to success:Degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science and/or have equivalent work experience5 years’ experience working in the software development industryDemonstrated experience with C#, and .NET developmentAbility to produce technical architecture designs for user and system flowsExperience in cloud automation and infrastructure as code a plusBackground in developing microservice and API first based platforms/architecturesExposure to cloud providers like AWS or preferably AzureExperience in any of the following (a plus):Azure FunctionsAPIMService BusCosmosDBCognitive SearchAbility to design and implement CI/CD processExperience building consumer facing platforms and applicationsUnderstanding of automated testing best practicesKnowledge of security standards and techniques for web/mobile applicationsExperience working with external vendors and outsourced teamsExperience with rapid development and prototyping a plusPositive attitude and willing to “go the extra mile” ensuring that time critical requirements are metExcellent writing skills with ability to express strategy, technical knowledge, and processes
