Job Title: GRCT Big Data GCP Data Engineer

Job Description:We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our Governance, Risk, and Compliance Technology (GRCT) team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building data pipelines, managing, transforming, and organizing big data using Google Cloud Platform (GCP) technologies. As part of the GRCT team, you will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining data solutions that support our governance, risk management, and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities:Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL processes on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support governance, risk management, and compliance functions.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design data models, and implement scalable solutions that meet business needs.Implement best practices for data governance, data quality, and data security in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.Optimize data processing and analytics workflows for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and guidelines for data engineering processes and procedures.Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends in data engineering, big data, and cloud computing.Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior team members as needed.

Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred. years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on building data pipelines and managing big data on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Hands-on experience with GCP data technologies such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Dataproc, and Cloud Storage.Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or Scala.Experience with data modeling, database design, and SQL query optimization.Knowledge of data governance principles, data quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.).Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:Google Cloud Platform (GCP) certification (e.g., Professional Data Engineer, Associate Cloud Engineer, etc.).Experience with other big data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, or TensorFlow.Experience with DevOps practices and tools for CI/CD automation (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, etc.).Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
