Back End Developer

This role is for an early-stage Startup building a supply chain and management platform, an enterprise solution, helping companies with end-to-end chain visibility.

What kind of technology do we use?We do most of our work on Supabase (backend as a service) with Deno and PostgreSQL.

ResponsibilityDemonstrating an ability to analyze complex technical problems, you will be required to make sound technical decisions in a proactive & self-directed manner. With responsibility across all phases of the technology lifecycle.Focus on NodeJs event driven architecture in a mix of stateful and stateless microservicesResponsible for high-quality code which will be shaping company growth & client experienceTest, evaluate & recommend technologies to improve our overall solutionsWork closely with the front-end developers, product owner and UX/UI designerProvide day-to-day support for the applicationsDesign and develop the business logic and product’s backend systemsWrite scalable, robust, testable, efficient, and easily maintainable codeTranslate software requirements into stable, working, high-performance softwareEnsure coding, testing, and documentation tasks are successfully performed for new application development and enhancements to existing system functionalityWork closely with front-end developers to design and develop functional, performing, and complete APIs or GraphQLDefine initiatives to improve quality and/or productivity, such as implementing automated test tools or new development methodologies within the teamPerform code reviews and prepare (or guide) technical documentationDefine standards and processes to be followed during the software development lifecycleChallenge ideas and opinions to avoid pitfalls and inefficient solutions

Skills & Experience

Exceptional engineering experience with any additional skills around a broad range of web technologies as a plusMust have relevant industry experience in JavaScript web technologies on NodeJSExperience in using testing tools like Jest and PostmanMust have experience of design principles & how to achieve them.Event Driven Architecture experience is preferredMust have experience with relational SQL and noSQL databases & best practicesExposure to CI/CD pipelinesProficient in Git for code versioningSolid understanding of TCP standards & network protocolsExperience with real-time systemsFunctional Programming preferredIn-depth knowledge of object-oriented programming and engineering principles like SOLIDSignificant experience writing and utilizing autonomous-service-oriented RESTful API and performance-tuning large scale appsExperience working with database systems and knowledge of SQL and NoSQL stores (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, and Couchbase)Experience in agile developmentStrong people skills, specifically in collaboration, and teamworkAbility to write effective unit, integration, and API testsExperience integrating with JavaScript frameworks, such as React or Angular JS, is a plusKnowledge of immutable infrastructure, infrastructure automation, and provisioning tools is a plusSecurity Knowledge is a Plus
