Senior Application Developer

VetConnect PLUS is a cloud hosted software solution for global veterinary practices designed to provide diagnostic workflow and decision support solutions. This new position on VetConnect PLUS is to support a multi-year initiative, IDEXX Reference Lab Digital Customer Experience, that is intended to create a one-stop digital experience for our IDEXX reference customers serving their end-to-end diagnostic workflow needs.

In This Role

As a Senior Application Developer on the VetConnect PLUS development team, your primarily focus will be supporting the strategy and delivery of the digital reference lab experience within VetConnect PLUS. You will work collaboratively in a scrum team to define implementation and execution tasks based on planning and user story mapping exercises. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining new infrastructure and codebase to support the delivery of the product. Below are finer details on what you can expect in this position:

Design, develop and test feature initiatives based on technical requirements provided by analysts and product teamsTroubleshoot, debug, maintain and improve existing softwareDevelops technical documentation to guide future software development projectsCoordinates with product team members to define application requirementsIdentifies business needs, assesses available technologies and develops and presents solutionsWorks with developers on other software teams to implement cross-product software solutionsAnalyzes different design approaches and makes appropriate recommendationsMay design system architectures; higher-level analytical skills in taking business requirements and creating design solutions

What You Need To Succeed

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 5+ years of experienceProfessional experience with full-stack developmentProfessional experience with general applications development processesFamiliarity with cloud hosted providers, specifically AWSAbility to leverage technology background and understanding of latest technologies to apply to development workExcellent problem-solving skillsExcellent team player and business relationship skillsStrong communication skills, both verbal and written, including ability to translate technical subject matter to non-technical audiences (both as a speaker and listener)Project management skills are a nice to have
