Business Intelligence Developer

The Business Intelligence developer designs and builds Tableau-based solutions to provide interactive visualizations and dashboards for business analysis and decision-making.

The candidate must be capable of working with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and leadership to understand requirements and provide high-level and detailed analysis, define, and create solutions using Tableau and SQL. The candidate must be able to design dashboards and visualizations using Tableau best practices with advanced Tableau functionality, keeping end-user functionality in mind. Multiple data sources might be used in content creation to enable consumers to make business-critical, data-driven decisions. The candidate will perform system integration and deployment activities, prepare system support documentation, and document program and system functions, as well as provide guidance and support on the Tableau solutions to the business users. As a Subject Matter Expert, the candidate will be responsible for supporting the team and users through business problem and opportunity identification, solution recommendations, and ongoing BI system and solution troubleshooting.

Duties and Responsibilities:Design, development, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting of Tableau Dashboards and visualizations.Work under the guidance of the BI Technical Lead to create BI dashboard solutions.Leverage advanced Tableau functionality (Tableau Prep, parameters, actions, tooltip modifications, API, etc.) to create analytical dashboards.Develop a strong understanding of business requirements, data elements, and relationships; working with business users and other BI analysts to define technical and process requirements.Build effective working relationships with team and business members.Continuously seek opportunities for performance and functionality improvements, make recommendations, and develop those improvements. Position Requirements:3-5+ years of experience with Tableau.8+ years of IT and Business Intelligence experience.Proven experience delivering Tableau Business Intelligence solutions.Experience with Tableau Prep, dashboard design, and delivery.Hands-on experience developing and using SQL for data retrieval.Excellent problem-solving, design, debugging, and testing skills.Ability to work with multiple different personality types within a fast-paced and dynamic workplace.Working knowledge of Tableau Administration, and ETL tools (Talend, Informatica, SSIS) is a plus.Subject matter knowledge of the financial industry (Banks, Credit Unions) is a plus.
