
The Rails Developer reports to and works closely throughout each day with the Technical Director of Assessment and is chiefly responsible for upgrading Ruby and Rails and testing all dependencies and major features of the upgraded application. On AWS, the Rails developer will assist with networking and security configuration and ensuring that the API works properly in a serverless environment on AWS.
RequirementsDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:• Finalize Ruby/Rails upgrade• Upgrade and test all dependencies and Ruby Gems• Assist with final stages of AWS migration
QUALIFICATIONS:Required• Candidates must be fluent in English• 2+ years of demonstrable experience with Ruby on Rails• 2+ years solid understanding of front-end Javascript frameworks (AngularJS preferred)• 2+ years' experience with AWS (IAM, ECS, EC2, S3, RDS, EFS, CodePipeline, Fargate)• 2+ years' experience using version control for code deployment and management (git/GitHub preferred)• 2+ years' experience developing applications that both consume and expose RESTful web APIs• Work full-time EST business hours
Desired• BA or higher in Computer Science (or comparable experience in Web applications development)• Familiarity with Ansible or a similar IT automation service• Experience with application load balancers
