Position Summary As the Staff Developer/Developer Manager, you will provide strategic technical leadership across our software stack. You will work cross-functionally with product managers and engineers to architect, plan and deliver robust full stack solutions. As an early employee of a growing company, you will also be responsible for co-creating our culture and core business processes.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end development – Oversee the entire product lifecycle from initial idea to launch, ensuring a cohesive flow from backend to frontend.Craft high-quality code – Produce clear and efficient code, actively engage in code reviews, and champion technological excellence.Write tech specs – Translate business needs into creative and technically robust solutions.Engage with clients – Collaborate closely with clients and product owners, transforming their visions into technical realities.Document thoroughly – Create comprehensive technical documentation, simplifying the onboarding process for newcomers.Refine best practices – Proactively seek and implement improvements in engineering and organizational workflows.Manage and mentor a team of engineers - Provide technical guidance, coaching, and career development. Advocate for the team's needs.Drive engineering planning and processes - Lead sprint planning, effort estimation, capacity planning, and release management.Architect and evolve the overall stack - Guide technology decisions and stack improvements; anticipate scaling challenges.
Required Skills and Experience+5 years of years of experience in software development, with at least 1 year in a lead role+1 year of experience managing and leading software engineering teamsProficient in guiding technical architecture and decision-making for medium-scale projects while also leading the technical development process. Demonstrated experience in overseeing and shaping the technical direction of projects of this scope.Proficient in 2 or more of the following frontend technologies:Typescript, NextJS, TailwindCSS, Cypress, React Native.Proficient in 2 or more of the following backend technologies: Node.js, Ruby, Go, Java, Kotlin, C++, RustExperience with database technologies knowledge such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL and related ORMs such as Prisma or Kysely.Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as: Jenkins, CircleCI, AWS, Github Actions.Bonus skills:tRPC, NeonDB, PlanetScale.Edge architecture (e.g. Vercel Edge functions).Containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.Infrastructure tools: Terraform, Puppet, AWS/Azure/GCD, Datadog, Splunk, Ansible, Prometheus.Proven experience in building RESTful APIs.Strong understanding of web and mobile application architectures.Passion for delivering robust and maintainable solutions.Taking ownership of projects and mentoring other engineers.Analytical approach to discovering root causes and articulating solutions clearlyOrganized with the capability to manage multiple projects.Strong written and verbal communicator, collaborates well clients & colleaguesAlways eager to learn and expand their skill set.Actively shares knowledge: Tech Talks, code walkthroughs, demos, etc.
