Database Developer

TechTrend is currently seeking a talented Database Developer to join our team of talented staff in helping to modernize how citizens interact with their national forests. The selected candidate will help analyze the interconnections in an existing database, define a new data model, and outline data migration waves in conjunction with application modernization. Additionally, the Data Developer will test a data mapping and connection to the legacy database based on a real use case (pilot workflow, campground assessment). Role Description: The database developer will work with data analysts, data architect, and other application developers to:

· Implement database structures, tables, views, and relationships between database objects in consultation with data analysts· Optimize sql queries for performance and efficiency· Experience developing stored procedures, functions and triggers in PL/SQL· Experience writing command line sql scripts · Experience enabling and supporting ORDS· Experience with configuration management and version control systems (eg Git)· Knowledge of sql performance tuning techniques, including indexing and partitioning· Knowledge of data integration techniques, including ETL processes· Implement error handling mechanisms and logging strategies· Familiar with shell scripting for automation and integration tasks.· Ability to troubleshoot and debug database-related issues efficiently· Collaborate effectively with other developers, data analysts, DBAs, and cross-functional teams.· Create and maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for database code and data structures.· Knowledge of other databases a plus (i.e., sql server, PostgreSQL)
