If you have read my job descriptions before, welcome back. If you are new, welcome to the party....you will notice that I like to add humor to my job descriptions...so you will see (hopefully) some chuckles as you read this.
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tom Welke. I am Partner & VP at RSM Solutions, Inc. About 95% of my time is spent 'customer facing'. That being said, I am going to be far more interested in 'fit' than anything else...a fit for you and a fit for the client. This also means that there are no 'layers' between me and any of my clients as well..I am direct to all my clients. I have been recruiting tech talent for 21 years (it will be 22 in January) and been in the tech sector since the mid 1990s, so my non existent hairline will tell you that I have been at this for a while.
This role is one where the social fit is just as important as the technical fit. What creates a good social fit, you ask? Well, I am glad you asked. Here are some characteristics:This role is techno / functional. So, we are seeking that easy going person that truly enjoys working with end users, but also has technical acumen to look at OTM from the perspective of modifying that module to meet end user needs. We all know people like Milton from Office Space...we definitely don't want a Milton. We really need that energetic person that likes to live this famous Steven Covey habit of 'first seek to understand, then to be understood'.This is an environment with limited drama and limited egos. If you believe the world revolves around you, I am going to suggest that you look elsewhere or just go back to being an Instagram Influencer. The hiring manager for this role, as well as this organization as a whole, has very low turnover. We are seeking individuals that want to stick around for a long time to come. This means that we are seeking candidates who do not just want to spend the next 6-9 months here...we are looking for a long term player who wants to stick around for the next several years.
This role can be done remotely. Our preference is for someone to be located within driving distance of:Jasper, IndianaDeerfield, IllinoisCleveland, Ohio
If you need to work remotely, that is fine. However, I would need you to be comfortable working on the Eastern Time Zone (9am to 5pm EST). So, this means, that if you are in California (PST), you would need to start work pretty early...6am PST to 2pm PST. In addition, their could be up to 25% travel to accommodate business needs (that travel would be, primarily, to the locations listed in the bullet points above).
I can only work with US Citizens or Green Card Holders for this role...I cannot work with H1, OPT or EAD Visa Holders.
For this role, we are seeking a skilled OTM (Oracle Transportation Management) techno functional analyst. These guys are running OTM in Oracle Cloud (version 22.B) and really pushing the limits of what OTM can do to help the overall organization as a whole. Your role is, primarily, going to be technical in focus. So, we are seeking those classic Techno / Functional activities in your background. So, for example, if you have done technical requirements gathering, technical documentation, process flow diagramming and so on, that would be great to see. But, more importantly, we are seeking that individual that can ask the right questions to drive into the solution sets that actually assist the overall enterprise. In addition, once you have the modifications needed...we are looking for you to make those modifications of the various aspects of OTM. Their is a team size of 4 developers you will be relaying these requirements to as well. You will be reporting directly to the Business Transformation Architect.
The environment you will be working with includes Oracle Demantra and Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning (ASCP) as well. Their is an individual that will be responsible for Demantra and ASCP, so you will be spending a good amount of time interacting with this person.
Instead of putting a zillion bullet points together, I will just focus on the real 'meat' of the role, so here are some of the key responsibilities:Identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions focusing on business analysis and project management of application enhancements and new application implementations of Oracle Transportation Management (OTM).Work with Logistics as a liaison and representative of the IT department to provide and support IT solutions including eliciting ideas, analyzing processes and systems logic, providing guidance and validating requirements for changes to business processes, policies, and OTM. These activities will also include what some would call 'development' within the OTM module itself.Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the IT requirements and recommend solutions that enable Logistics to achieve its goals using OTM Cloud.Provide on-going support on “break-fix” issues for existing applications.Improve business processes, analyze data, map processes and implement improvements enabled by technology.
Here is what we are seeking:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical or electronic or mechanical engineering or foreign equivalent degree. At least 4 years of technical OTM experience (this role is far more technical than functional). I am more interested in the breath and depth of your skills as opposed to the years of experience, however. This experience should include application design and development from business requirements analysis through implementation in Oracle Transportation Management (OTM).That OTM experience should include fun stuff like setups (configuration, shipment management, rates, master data, bulk planning parameters, user configuration, screen set development, SQL queries, and working with CSV & XML files).Certification in OTM or Oracle Certified OTM Cloud Specialist.Experience with OTM Mobility, Rate Management and Sourcing Module, PC Miler and SMC Rateware (On-prem as well as webservices). At least 1 end to end OTM cloud or on-prem implementation.Strong Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence skills, including: identification of technology to solve various business problems and handling scalability issues for BI platform would be great to see.
Here are the major things the hiring manager will be looking for (in other words, these are the kinds of questions the hiring manager will be asking about):At least 1 end to end implementation of OTM (this could be as a technical, functional or techno/functional resource).Experience with application design and development from business requirements analysis through implementation in Oracle Transportation Management (OTM).Experience supporting workflow Automation Agents, Out XML Profiles, Integration xml templates for Release, TransOrder, PlannedShipment, TenderOffer, TenderResponse as well as ShipmentStatus.
