Full-Stack WordPress + WooCommerce Developer - must be based in Ireland but can work remotely

The RoleWe are looking for a problem solving, inquisitive, organised web developer experienced in all stages of the web development process to join our team.You will be working on new and existing projects with custom designs and coding sites from scratch using WordPress. You will ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX concepts and then translate wireframes and Figma or Zeplin mockups into finished products.Other tasks will include integrating with 3rd party API’s, data migrations from other CMS systems, WordPress maintenance and troubleshooting.You will also be working towards tight deadlines on projects for a wide range of business types and sizes. The position is full time, normal office hours and remote working.

Who You AreYou are a passionate full-stack coder able to find logical and innovative solutions and have lots of experience using WordPress.Since many of our projects involve e-commerce, you will also have lots of experience with the WordPress plugin, WooCommerce as well as a full-understanding of the elements particular to e-commerce sites (payment gateways, taxation, shipping, wholesale vs retail, etc.)Have a passion for best in class coding practices and be able to use this to develop functional and user-friendly websites and applications.You bridge the gap between design and technology. You convert designs to functioning prototypes and collaborate with agile teams to deliver working websites.You will be joining our team and need to be able to articulate and justify ideas clearly, as well as being able to take and apply constructive criticism.You are organised, efficient and can manage projects all the way through from project research and review to scheduling, setting tasks, goals, budgets and time management.

What You Have 1. 3+ years of experience developing WordPress sites with proficiency in PHP, WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, and with a portfolio of completed work. 2. Full-stack WordPress PHP development skills - Experience using CSS Preprocessors (e.g., SASS, LESS, CSS Next), with additional experience with JavaScript/jQuery, Ajax, etc. 3. Familiarity with plugin development, WordPress hierarchy, Gutenberg Block, Classic Editor, multisite architecture, multilingual websites, and creating custom WordPress Blocks (using ACF or even React). 4. Ability to develop engaging, functional and efficient front-end/back-end solutions for clients using well-formatted best practice HTML5, as well as experience with varying CSS methodologies and front-end frameworks. 5. Our base themes are GeneratePress and Kadence, utilising one or the other depending on the requirements of the project. Experience of Bootstrap and similar frameworks also needed 6. Have particular experience with e-commerce, such as familiarity with WooCommerce and e-commerce-specific concepts (payment gateway, shipping configuration, tiered-pricing, simple vs variable products, etc) 7. Have experience configuring and using popular WordPress plugins such as Kadence Blocks, GenerateBlocks, WP Import, WP Export, ACF, Yoast SEO, Gravity Forms, W3 Total Cache, Smush, WordFence, etc. 8. Good understanding of MySQL or MariaDB databases, with proficiency in SQL and knowledge of server-side technologies such as Nginx, Apache, and Linux 9. Problem Solving Skills – Experience with creating logical and innovative solutions to custom/complex problems for small to enterprise-sized businesses. 10. Security – ability to audit a site and server for any threats and suggest ways to mitigate them. 11. Performance – familiarity with both client-side and server-side web optimisation techniques. Always aware of the performance impact the resources have and striving to deliver highly optimised online applications. 12. Mobile - Experience in mobile UI development is essential and a clear understanding of responsive development, both in terms of correct HTML layout and accompanying CSS. 13. Experience working in a team-environment, working with both in-house designers and developers as well as those in partnership with the company and Experience with Agile methodologies and project management tools such as Jira, Teamwork etc. 14. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 15. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with changing priorities and unforeseen challenges
