About the roleThe Senior Front-End Engineer is expected to demonstrate increased proficiency in newly acquired industry-related skills. The Engineer II will perform routine programming assignments that require skilled background experience and knowledge of established programming procedures. This person works according to clear-cut and complete specifications.

Job Responsibilities:Design and implement high-performance, scalable, robust and reliable server applications that support key Expedia initiatives.Translate functional specifications into logical, component-based technical designs.Prototype creative solutions quickly by developing minimum viable products and work with others in crafting and implementing the technical vision.Provide code reviews to assess overcall code quality and flexibility, and the application of good object-oriented programming techniques.Drive continuous improvement and continuous delivery in our software development process within an agile development team.Write automated unit, system and acceptance tests as appropriate to support our continuous integration pipelines.Work closely with other passionate developers both local and in various other Expedia offices around the world to ensure code quality, appropriate testing and design to ensure excellent product quality.Mentor junior members of the engineering team and raise the bar by contributing to continuously improving engineering practices and development standards.Support live-site operations as needed as part of our DevOps approach

Job Requirements:BS degree in Computer Science field or equivalent hands-on experience4+ years experience building applications with React4+ years of experiences with CSS/SASS and HTML51+ year with TypescriptExperience with distributed systems and related conceptsFocused, dependable, detail-oriented and hands-on – completes tasks quickly and thoroughlyPerformance & OptimizationError boundary & Exception HandlingUnit Testing (Jest / RTL / Enzyme / Mocha / Chai)Good debugging SkillsExperience in GraphQLExp in AWS, with Kubernetes knowledge is plusHigh Quality Software development skills in ReactExcellent algorithmic and problem-solving skillsExperience in Agile/Scrum software development methodologyGood understanding of SQL/NoSQL DB (Elasticsearch, Redis)Excellent work ethics and communication skills – written, verbal and interpersonalExcellent communication skills in English Language
