API Developer

Developer

The Developer works under supervision, assisting in preparing specifications and user requirements to meet business needs. Develops, tests, debugs, and documents programs for specific mid-sized projects. They will also assist other developers on more complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

Assists with implementation of project architecture, standards and processes, under the direction of Lead and ManagerResearches, identifies and documents technical requirementsAssists with implementation of project design, standards and processes, under the direction of Lead and ManagerAssists with development and documentation of the high-level technical designIdentifies project tasks and defines task definitionsAssists in developing technical project schedules, plans, task assignments and time estimatesAttends regular technical team meetingsProvides senior project staff with full communication of project progressTakes an active role in development of low-level designWorks with Lead and Manager to develop time estimates for project tasksDevelops code in keeping with established processes and standardsDebugs and unit tests modules before deployment to QA environmentAssists deployment staff by providing necessary documentationCreates and maintains project documentation, in accordance with established standardsDesigns and builds applications or models and structures data with languages as outlinedMay develop programs for data extraction, transformation, and loading

What you’ll need to join Insight

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; plus two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with a revision control system.The ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business/ professional journals, technical procedures, or regulations is necessary. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, other employees is a plus. Developers will pursue knowledge of the SAP system, since it is integral to the overall business flow at Insight. Strong creative problem-solving ability. Ability to multi-task, establish priorities and meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability and desire to thrive in a fast-paced, client-services environment.
