JOB DESCRIPTIONWe are currently looking for an experienced engineer with expertise in machine learning, large language models and artificial intelligence. The ML/AI Engineer will develop technical solutions to meet the needs of the FDA missions and goals. As a Machine Learning Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing machine learning models and algorithms to solve complex business problems. Working at the intersection of data science and software engineering, you will play a crucial role in creating scalable and efficient solutions that leverage machine learning techniques. This position requires a strong background in machine learning, programming skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.Must have experience with machine learning production-level architecture(cloud computing).
Qualified candidates must be USC/GC/EAD and have or can attain a Public Trust clearance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Problem Definition and Solution Design: Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business problems and requirements. Define machine learning objectives and formulate solutions that align with organizational goals.Data Collection and Preprocessing: Identify and gather relevant datasets for model training and evaluation. Implement data preprocessing techniques to clean, normalize, and transform data.Model Development: Develop, implement, and optimize machine learning models and algorithms. Select appropriate modeling techniques and algorithms based on the problem at hand. Fine-tune models to achieve desired performance metrics.Coding and Software Development: Write efficient, maintainable, and scalable code to implement machine learning solutions. Integrate machine learning models into existing software systems or develop new applications as needed.Evaluation and Validation: Design and conduct experiments to evaluate model performance and robustness. Implement validation strategies to ensure model generalization to new data.Deployment and Integration: Deploy machine learning models into production environments. Collaborate with teams to integrate models into existing systems and workflows.Monitoring and Maintenance: Implement monitoring tools and processes to track model performance over time. Troubleshoot and address issues related to model performance and data quality.Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, and business analysts. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.JOB REQUIREMENTSBachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.3-5 years of experience in machine learning model development and implementation.5 years of programming experience in languages such as Python, Java, or C++.Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data structures.Experience with popular machine learning libraries and frameworksFamiliarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their machine learning services.Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication and collaboration skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Experience with deep learning techniques and architectures.Knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) or computer vision.Familiarity with big data technologies.Understanding of software engineering best practices and version control systems.
