Job Title: Postgres Database Developer eith PL/PG or PL/SQL with Oracle

Job Description:

We are seeking a Postgres Database Programmer with a strong understanding of Postgres best practices and extensive experience in database scripting and management. This role is critical for ensuring the efficient and secure operation of our Postgres databases.

Key Qualifications:

Primary Key Usage: Knowledge of best practices, such as using BIGINT or UUID for primary keys, to optimize database performance.

Connection Pooling: Familiarity with connection pooling techniques to manage database connections efficiently.

Credential Management: Ability to rotate database credentials regularly to enhance security.

Postgres Versions: Experience working with a range of Postgres versions, including 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15.

Programming Languages: Proficiency in at least one of the following Postgres languages: PL/Java, Perl, Tcl, Python, PL/LUA, PL/R, PL/sh, PL/V8, or JavaScript.

Scripting Experience: Extensive experience in writing and executing scripts or programs using programming languages, such as PLpgSQL or Python, to manipulate and store data in PostgreSQL or Oracle databases.

Data Modeling: Competency in working with complex data models and creating scripts for various database object types, including tables, views, procedures, functions, and triggers in Postgres.

Agile Methodology: Practical experience with Agile Methodology and familiarity with DataOps tools like JIRA, Jenkins, BitBucket, Serena, and Autosys.

Unix/Linux Proficiency: Working knowledge of the Unix/Linux operating system.
