The RW Technical SME is a Full Stack Developer that is a customer-facing representative of the ReadyWorks ( "RW”) Professional Services team, and responsible for developing technical solutions around the ReadyWorks Platform to support unique client needs. The RW Technical SME is supported in their role by a RW Process Consultant who is responsible for explaining Client Requirements and documenting Work Items for resolution by the RW Technical SME.

A day in the life of the RW Technical SME will include:Discussions with RW Process Consultants about client requirementDeveloping solutions that are in support of the automation of client processes within the RW Platform.

The platform is used to automate client processes through a variety of features and functionality. Sometimes based on the client's unique needs, some further functionality is needed. These are typically:Intelligent Automation scripts (PowerShell with SQL Interaction) that detect criteria and take specific actionsPHP Modal forms with action buttonsCustomized Reports (another type of PHP Form).The product is very stable, and as such Support Calls are rare, but when they do happen, the RW Technical SME on-duty is responsible for 2nd Level Support in response to escalations from the Process Consultant On-Duty.

Most of the Processes we are automating fall in the realm of Digital Transformation for our customers. They include but are not limited to Windows as a Service, Asset Refresh, Asset Life-Cycle Management, Flex Space or Hoteling initiatives, Data Center Migrations, OS Migrations, etc.

The RW Technical SME is also responsible for the upkeep of Technical Knowledge maintained in the DevOps wikis about every client they interact with. This information is maintained for transparency and to allow the Pro Services team to move forward with solutions more easily. The solutions created by our Technical SME's often times are reused by multiple clients as enhancements to the native product offering of the RW Platform.

As time progresses and the RW Technical SME becomes adept at ReadyWorks, lateral movement into our Development Environment is possible for more direct work on Product Roadmap features.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS: (In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must have all of these qualifications, and skills.) A minimum of 7+ years of Full Stack Development experienceExcellent Communication SkillsPHP – OOP methodologies.Experience with MVC Frameworks such as Laravel or CodeIgniter.MySQL – Database Design, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers and basic query optimization. (Exposure to Microsoft SQL is a plus.)HTML & CSS – Understanding of HTML 5 concepts. CSS concepts such as table-less design and advanced positioning. Bootstrap CSS framework is required.JavaScript – Understanding of modern JavaScript controls and data patterns. JQuery knowledge is required.Git – Understanding of the "Git Flow” branch and merge standard.Large Data Sets – Understanding of how to deliver large data sets to the client browser with high performance utilizing libraries such as the DataTables Plugin for JQuery.

DESIRED SKILLS: (Candidates with one or more of these would be more successful in this position than those without.) Cloud-Based service providers such as AWS and AzureTroubleshooting complex queries and performance issues in the PHP MySQL stackUsing PHPUnit in a CI pipelineFamiliarity with ETL systemsMicrosoft PowerShell scriptingCandidates should have at least 6+ years of relevant experience with the PHP and MySQL stack.An Interest in Technical Problem-Solving using the 'Optimal' approach instead of the 'Perfect' approach.

Responsibilities :Maintaining existing application features and modulesInteracting and working with other functional units to gather requirements and implement new featuresTroubleshoot and remediate issues and bugsUnit testing of other developer's code, including pre-merge testingCreate/modify scripts using PowerShell to move data between ETL systems and the ReadyWorks platform. This is heavily leveraged to take abstract data flows and convert them to working connectors.End-User Support consists of all phase support from Requirements gather through Post- Deployment support.
