Role Overview:

As a Full Stack Developer, you will collaborate closely with a small team to develop and enhance our acclaimed learnTech solutions. Operating within a fully remote environment, you will have the autonomy to manage your schedule. Your primary focus will encompass modernizing our tech stack, transitioning from legacy PHP to streamlined Laravel/React frameworks. This role presents an opportunity to make significant contributions to our product suite, which includes a web-based Learning Management System (LMS), bite-sized learning app, and content authoring tool.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and secure applications utilizing PHP Laravel and React.Participate in the ongoing migration process from legacy PHP to modern Laravel/React architecture, ensuring code cleanliness, readability, and testability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement reusable components, emphasizing automated testing with PHPUnit and Jest.Write efficient and secure MySQL queries, adhering to web security best practices.Continuously strive for personal and professional growth, remaining abreast of emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends.Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective collaboration within a remote setting.Demonstrate proficiency in Linux environments, with a keen understanding of scalability and performance considerations.Contribute to technical discussions and documentation, fostering knowledge-sharing and team cohesion.Exhibit adaptability in a fast-paced environment, adept at managing multiple projects and priorities.Engage in the improvement of UX/UI, adhering to best practices and enhancing overall user experience.

2+ years experience working with Laravel and building reusable components with ReactAn understanding of the importance of automated testing and a passion for writing full testable code (we use PHPUnit and Jest)Ability to write secure and performant queries for MySQL - with or without EloquentA good understanding of web security best practicesA keen desire to learn and a focus on continuous improvement for tech, tools, processes, product and yourselfExcellent verbal and written communication skillsComfortable within a Linux environmentGood understanding of scalability and performance considerations with experience working on high user/traffic platformsSolid understanding of fundamental web technologies - HTML, CSS, Javascript, SQLAbility to use your own initiative and take control of projects/solutionsA decent understanding of npm/webpackComfortable working in a fast-paced environment, being reactive to change whilst being able to manage your commitmentsAlways keen to share your knowledge and bring up the team around youYou’re quite happy contributing to technical discussions and documentation
