API Developer - Remote (WFH)

Position Summary: Cognitive is seeking a Software Engineer with advanced knowledge and expertise in applications programming methodologies and disciplines; Expert knowledge in system analysis and business problem-solving; Proficient with business reporting; Advanced Knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL) in Microsoft SQL and Oracle environments; Knowledge of Cloud Technologies.

Duties:

Design, develop, and maintain APIs that meet high-performance and scalability requirements.Experience in developing REST API servicesCollaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define API specifications.Optimize API performance, security, and reliability.Troubleshoot and debug API issuesAbility to decrypt JSON, XML structured data into normalize data setsCreating high-availability applicationsWrites clean, efficient, and well documented code that adheres to software development standards and best practicesParticipates in software design and architecture discussions to ensure the software meets the functional and non-functional requirementsCollaborates with other developers, testers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of software features and bug fixesPerforms code reviews and provides construction feedback to other team membersContinuously learns and stays up-to-date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies related to Java development

Required Skills:

Proven experience in API development, including REST and SOAPStrong proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in API development (e.g., Python, Java, Node.js)Knowledge of database systems and data modelingStrong problem-solving and debugging skillsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsAbility to adapt to new technologies and frameworks quicklyProficiency in version control systems, especially GitExperience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools like JenkinsKnowledge of Azure API development and integrationExperience working in Angular, Mulesoft, Microsoft API web services or equivalent

Technical Skills: Java/ Maven; Oracle SQL (SQL Developer); Spring Framework(Batch, Boot, WS, Rest, Micro-services, Test Framework); SOAP and Rest architecture; JBoss

Required Education, Experience, and Clearance:

A Master’s or Bachelor’s 5 years or more experienceAbility to obtain a Position of Public Trust - Medium Background Investigation (MBI)

Nice to Have:

3+ years experience supporting healthcare applicationsExperience in Agile methodologies
