Sr Back End Developer

Job Description: Unpaid Volunteering Position (at least 20 hours a week)

Responsibilities:Develop and maintain server-side logic using Node.js.Design and implement RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.Build reusable code and libraries for future use.Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.Implement security and data protection measures.Integrate user-facing elements developed by front-end developers with server-side logic.Integrate AI/ML models into Node.js applications.Collaborate with Frontend, data scientists and AI/ML engineers to deploy and integrate services.Gather and address technical and design requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:3 years of experience as a Node.js Developer or similar role.Strong proficiency with JavaScript and Node.js frameworks such as Express.js.Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases such as Postgres, MongoDB, etc.Understanding of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds.Familiarity with automated testing platforms and unit tests.Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform is a plus.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks/libraries like React.js, AngularJS, Vue.js, etc.Excellent communication and teamwork skills.Contributions to open-source projects or active involvement in the developer community.
