Mactores is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Database Developer to lead and execute the migration project from MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL. The ideal candidate will lead hands-on execution of migrating database objects such as tables, stored procedures, functions, and views from MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL. The candidate will also be responsible for migrating the SQL statements within the application code to facilitate the migration.
What you will do?Migrate essential database components, including but not limited to tables, stored procedures, functions, and views from MS SQL Server to PostgreSQL.Validate and ensure the migrated objects function as intended in the PostgreSQL environment.Evaluate existing application codebase to identify SQL statements that interact with the MS SQL Server.Modify and adapt SQL statements within the application code to align with PostgreSQL syntax and functionalities.Collaborate with application developers to ensure a smooth transition and troubleshoot any code-related issues post-migration.Analyze and optimize database performance during and post-migration to ensure efficient query execution and system responsiveness.Maintain comprehensive documentation throughout the migration process, detailing methodologies, challenges, solutions, and outcomes.
What are we looking for?Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a Database Developer or Migration Specialist.Proven expertise in MS SQL Server and PostgreSQL database platforms.Strong understanding of database architecture, design principles, and data migration methodologies.Proficient in SQL scripting, optimization techniques, and performance tuning.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adapt to changing priorities.Exceptional communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical information to diverse audiences.

The Path to Joining the Mactores TeamAt Mactores, our recruitment process is structured around three distinct stages:
Pre-Employment Assessment:You will be invited to participate in a series of pre-employment evaluations to assess your technical proficiency and suitability for the role.
Managerial Interview: The hiring manager will engage with you in multiple discussions, lasting anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, to assess your technical skills, hands-on experience, leadership potential, and communication abilities.
